Another quiet day on Tuesday but KINKY AFRO left on her journey to Turkey at 10.00pm only to be delayed at Luton Airport with the flight finally taking off at 7.30am the next morning so not a great start to the trip !  After a pretty horrendous journey, she has at last arrived, has settled well and has cantered this morning, Faye saying that she felt great, so fingers crossed for Saturday (race time is 21.00pm in Turkey so 19.00hrs our time).  Let’s hope she runs well and gets in the money. 

IGNORE THE ADVICE ran at Lingfield on Wednesday finishing third and our other runners, IVAN’S A STAR and PAHENTE (at Kempton) both ran nice races and we were pleased with them.  IVAN’s got taken out by another horse after 2f and dropped back to last but still managed to get up for 4th so it will be interesting to see what he does next time out.

Three runners today at Lingfield SECOND ENCORE, OFFICER IN COMMAND and EXCEEDTHEWILDMAN.  It’s back on the all-weather for them all and both Officer In Command and Exceedthewildman have run well on the surface before so we’re hopeful of at least some places. 

PURPLE GALLERY runs at Kempton tomorrow in a hot race, he has a bad draw to overcome but as Stan always says - if you’re not in, you can’t win !!

The weather has played havoc with the going this week and the best of our other runners during the week was a 2nd from PURPLE GALLERY at Brighton on Wednesday.

Stan has been at the first yearling sales in the UK at Doncaster this week where trade was good and returned home with four new purchases - two colts and two fillies.  One of the colts is a full brother to FULLBACK who has served us very well in the past and looks just like him !! We also have a Dark Angel Colt out of Spinning Gold,  a Jeremy/Second Prayer Filly and a Byron/Halland Park Girl Filly.  We will get pictures and their pedigrees up on the website early next week, so please feel free to have a look if you are interested in buying one or even a share.

A quite weekend with only one runner later today at Bath - APPYJACK.  We pulled our two runners out at Newmarket due to a change in the going, it now being soft.  KINKY AFRO continues her international campaign and flies out to Turkey on Tuesday night for her Group race which is at Istanbul on Saturday 4th September. Stan will go out next week on Thursday leaving Sara and myself to a bit of peace and quiet !!

York has been a great weeks’ racing, big crowds there as always.  RIP VAN WINKLE looked good and could be hard to beat the rest of the year.

The Yearling Sales kick start here at Doncaster on Tuesday, they come round quick. It could be a buyers market this year, it has produced some good winners of late so anyone looking for one or a share in one, give me a ring, I will be there for the two days.

Last weekend was good with two of our runners getting black type.  KINKY AFRO at Bath on Sunday, she could go to Turkey next to race on the 4th of September.  Also getting black type was SLIM SHADEY, 2nd in the Washington Singer Stakes (Listed) at Newbury on Saturday.  He could go for the Royal Lodge at Ascot next, a real nice horse and still improving.
