Friday 30th April - Ali’s Blog
Friday, April 30th, 2010Stan is away at the sales in Newmarket and Sara has headed off to Lingfield for our runner DANUBE DANCER, so it’s my turn to write the blog.
This week has been exciting heading up to our biggest weekend yet, with our first ever Classic runners. It’s always a tricky time the week before big races just hoping that all stays well, but so far, so good !!
KINKY AFRO headed off to Germany last night for her run in the German 1000 Guineas and she has travelled well arriving safely at Dusseldorf. Stan will travel over tomorrow with her owner, Phil Cunningham and jockey, Liam Keniry. She is well in herself and hopefully will put up a good show. Good Luck to them.
TOTAL GALLERY runs at Newmarket tomorrow - Johnny Murtagh is again in the saddle so hopefully they can re-produce the Prix de L’Abbaye form and get his 2010 campagin off to a good start. His aim is the Kings Stand at Royal Ascot in June but historically he has always run well first time out. He is drawn 6 of 12 so that’s a help. LADY DARSHAAN gets the honours of our first British Classic runner and she is bang on form for the day - we hope you will all be watching in support of us…. She is also drawn in the middle - 8 of 18 and William Buick has been booked to ride her. Let’s hope they can make their own little piece of history together !
We’ve been relatively quiet this week with runners. WISHFORMORE ran last Friday at Wolverhampton and was 2nd again but will come on for the run. She is such a lovely filly, we have taken our time with her as she always seems to be growing !! Monday saw us off to Windsor with three runners. KISSING CLARA ran well enough first time out and will again come on for her run. FRAME IT ran a much better race in blinkers to finish 3rd having been given a really good ride by our new Apprentice, Ryan Powell. ANT MUSIC had his first run for a while and finished mid-division.
CRAICATTACK finished 2nd at Lingfield on Tuesday not wanting to go on past the winner and FOUR KICKS was narrowly beaten at Brighton last night. Today we have another two year old out first time - DANUBE DANCER Stan bought her at the Kempton Breeze Up Sales for a new owner, so it will be nice to see how she goes.
Apart from our big runners at Newmarket and in Germany, SIR LUNCHALOTT runs on Saturday at Thirsk and we are hoping he can get his head in front as he has been close enough in his last few runs.
Hopefully, we’ll have something really nice to write about next week…………
