Friday 28th May
Friday, May 28th, 2010Nice bit of sunshine this week - good to see. We’ve had plenty of runners this week with a few 4ths and a couple of 3rds in general all running up to scratch.
DANUBE DANCER ran very flat at Windsor on Monday evening and came back very quiet so will have it easy for a little while. Hopefully, FOUR KICKS will run a bit better today than at Bath last Sunday where she ran a bit too free - She seems to like Brighton though. KINKY AFRO runs in a Listed race at Newmarket tomorrow. It’s a tough race but she’s a hardy type and it would be nice to get her some black type in England. She has got it abroad now following her trip to Germany - she’d like a shower of rain but should run well.
We have a few in on Monday at Goodwood and Redcar - a couple of first time out 2 yr olds, nice to get some more of them running.
We gelded IVAN’S A STAR this week for his antics at Yarmouth last week !!
GORESBRIDGE was a good sale in Ireland last Friday. Trade was strong and I bought a nice filly by Chineur with a nice page, good size and scope and for handy money at £5k - so anyone looking for a bit of value, give me a ring !
This week we also played host to our local Scout Cub Group from Shrivenham and Watchfield. We had 32 youngsters here on Wednesday evening for a visit to the yard and a little insight into the daily workings and life of a stable lad. Hopefully they all enjoyed themselves and perhaps we’ve encouraged a few into the game as budding jockey’s. Bizarrely, they all thought the best bit of the evening was having a run round in the horse-walker !! Picture on the front page of the website.
