Another great week with three winners - Long may it last as they say !!
We had a 2nd and 3rd in the Seller at Lingfield on Tuesday with MAGIC SPIRIT and ANT MUSIC respectively. MAGIC SPIRIT was claimed - she is a tough filly and will do well under both codes so her new owner will have a lot of fun with her - good luck to them. MNARANI ran a good race to be 3rd beaten a neck and a neck. His first run for a long time, he has strengthened up well and will be one to watch in the future.
We had another double on Wednesday - our 4th since January !! SHEILA’S BOND at Wolverhampton. This was especially nice as it was Ray Styles’ first winner with us and his first win as a breeder. She is tough and honest and will go on to win more. MAOI CHINN TIRE won easily at Kempton, he is in really good nick and seems to handle the turf just as well as the all-weather so lots to look forward to with him. Gillian Dawson had her first ride for me on HOLD THE BUCKS, things didn’t go right in the race for her but it is all a learning curve. We reviewed the race the next day and she will be riding again soon. Congratulations must also go to Luke Morris who rode his first treble on Wednesday - so well done to him !
On Thursday, KINKY AFRO put in a good performance to win easily at Wolverhampton. She is very much on the upgrade and could get a fair hike from the handicapper for that win but we could look abroad to try and win a bit of black type for her.
The 2 yr olds are going nicely and could be working on the grass soon, we have only been on it once so far. Liam Keniry has been in a couple of times and thinks we have a nice bunch. We have three for the first week of the turf season - exciting as it is just around the corner, as is Cheltenham. I will be doing the same as last year - a blog and some tips on each day of the Festival . We did ok last year with some winners and some good each way places. It’s easier to lose money than win but we’ll have a go !!
