July 23rd, 2010Another busy week with runners, two 2nds yesterday and PARTOUT LE MAGASIN was unlucky not to be 3rd at Sandown, getting boxed in. KISSING CLARA just keeps meeting one too good, the winner of her race was gambled on, hopefully she will get lucky soon and go one better.
MAOI CHINN TIRE ran solid again to be 2nd but seems to be better on the all-weather. The Moore The Merrier horse, RIVER TEASE, ran a much improved race at Leicester to be 5th, staying on nice. He still ran green and will improve again for it - it would be nice to get a win for them soon. PAINTERS EASEL, their other horse, runs at Salisbury tomorrow night but I would say Richard Hannon will win that one - he is really flying at the moment !!
We have five runners today, they will run well but competetive races and the ground is a question mark for some of the 2 year olds. PURPLE GALLERY should go close, he is tough and ran ok at Southwell so should handle the going. OFFICER IN COMMAND runs at Ascot at 5.05pm and his run will be ground dependant, the quicker the ground the better he will run. SONORAN SANDS and QUINSMAN also run at Ascot over the weekend as long as the ground doesn’t go soft.
A lot of good racing next week with Glorious Goodwood, we will have some runners but in the nurseries, but like Royal Ascot it will be tough going.
The official ratings came out this week for the 2 yr olds, happy with some, not so others but all trainers will be the same. Weather playing havoc with the ground again but sunshine hopefully around the corner again, plenty of runners next week and hopefully, with luck, a couple of winners - they have been knocking on the door.
